One flat discount doesn't fit every cart
Advanced Mode lets you set a different incentive for each cart-value range instead of a single flat discount — so a $40 cart and a $400 cart never get offered the same thing.
One number, two problems
A single flat discount has to serve every cart on your store at once. Set it high enough to move a $300 order, and you’re handing the same percentage — or worse, the same fixed amount — to a $30 cart that never needed that much to convert. Set it low enough to protect margin on your smallest carts, and it barely registers against your largest ones.
Advanced Mode removes that compromise. Instead of one incentive for every cart, you define cart-value ranges and set the incentive for each range on its own.
How ranges work
Turn on Advanced Mode and the single discount field is replaced by a list of cart-value ranges you build yourself.
- Each range has a floor (minimum cart value) and, optionally, a ceiling (maximum cart value).
- Only the top range can be left open-ended — every range below it needs a ceiling.
- A range’s floor is inclusive and its ceiling is exclusive: if two ranges meet at $150, a cart of exactly $150 lands in the higher range, not the lower one.
- Ranges can’t overlap.
- Every range picks its own incentive independently — percentage or fixed amount — so you can mix both in the same setup.
A worked example
Illustrative numbers only — set your own ranges and amounts to match your store. Say a store configures three ranges:
A cart worth $120 is offered 10% off. A cart worth $200 is offered 15% off. A cart worth $900 — there’s no ceiling on the top range — is offered a flat $40 off. Three carts, three different offers, sized to what each one is actually worth.
Because each range’s own floor already sets the minimum cart value required to unlock it, there’s no separate minimum-purchase amount to configure alongside these ranges.
When to use Advanced Mode
It’s built for stores where one flat discount is genuinely a compromise — not every store needs it.
Good fit
- Your cart values span a wide range — a $20 accessory and a $400 bundle sell side by side.
- You want to protect margin on your biggest carts without weakening the offer on your smallest ones.
- Your current flat discount feels like a compromise: too generous on large carts, not enough to matter on small ones.
Skip it
- Most of your carts land in a narrow value range — there’s nothing to differentiate.
- You want the simplest possible setup and are fine with one discount for every cart.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Advanced Mode and cart-value ranges.
- Can one range use a percentage discount and another use a fixed amount?
- Yes. Each range sets its own incentive type independently, so you can offer 10% off on a low range and a flat $40 off on your top range in the same setup.
- What happens to a cart that doesn’t fall inside any of my ranges?
- If a cart’s value is below your lowest range’s floor, it isn’t covered by Advanced Mode — it falls back to your store’s regular flat incentive instead. Start your lowest range at $0 (or whatever floor you actually want) if you want every abandoning cart covered by a range.
- Can I leave more than one range open-ended?
- No. Only the highest range can skip a ceiling. Every range below it needs an upper bound, or the ranges above it can never be reached.
- Do I still set a separate minimum purchase amount in Advanced Mode?
- No — that field disappears once Advanced Mode is on. Each range’s own floor already acts as the minimum cart value required to unlock its incentive, so there’s nothing extra to configure.
- Where do I turn this on?
- In your NavonaAI dashboard, under your store’s prevention settings, flip the Advanced Mode toggle. A single flat discount field is replaced by a list of cart-value ranges you define.
