Abandoned Cart Value
Abandoned cart value is the total value of carts created in a period that never became an order.
It's a dollar figure, not a rate. Where cart abandonment rate answers what share of carts were abandoned, abandoned cart value answers how much those specific carts were worth. A store can have a high abandonment rate but low abandoned cart value if the abandoned carts tend to be small, or the reverse if a handful of large carts are behind most of it.
Abandoned cart value is often treated as revenue at risk, but the two aren't exactly the same: not every abandoned cart represents a sale the store would otherwise have won, since some abandonment is window shopping or price comparison rather than a purchase that was actually going to happen.
Whether a cart's value counts toward this figure usually depends on the same filtering used elsewhere in a store's analytics: carts flagged as bot traffic are typically excluded, so the number reflects carts real shoppers left behind rather than a raw, unfiltered total.
